WHAT IS MICROBLADING?

Microblading is one of the top new trends in beautiful eyebrow enhancements. We know it can be quite confusing when searching the web for the meaning of these different types of techniques for the eyebrows.

Eyebrow Embroidery & 3D Feather Hair Stroke methods are all applications of Microblading. Microblading is a relatively new, manual method of depositing colored pigment into the dermis layer of the skin using fine needles aligned in the shape of a blade. This technique will give your brow a natural looking lift, add fullness and refine the beauty in your face. The results last anywhere from 1 - 2 years, touch ups are required.

WINKS + WHIMS eyebrow specialists has completed several certifications nationally and internationally in brows and has also had the opportunities to sit sat side by side with some of the world's leading permanent makeup artists.

WHAT IS A COMBINATION BROW?

This technique is achieved by combining microblading and powder.  Performed with a manual tool and machine, this technique will give your brows a natural looking lift, added fullness and hair strokes in the front while adding density, definition and structure to the tail. Such a gorgeous look!

HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE?

Procedures take two hours, sometimes more sometimes less. Please allow at least two and a half hour window for your appointment. We likely won’t need that much time, but this isn’t something we want to rush. This will allow us time for paperwork, consultation, numbing, brow shaping and procedure.

WHAT WILL I LOOK LIKE WHEN I LEAVE?

You will look gorgeous, as usual! The colour will appear darker and bolder due to natural scabbing and healing for the first 10 days. This is very common for all permanent cosmetic procedures.

DO I NEED TO TAKE TIME OFF WORK?

No. There’s no downtime associated with the treatments. Your brows will appear darker initially, but not so dark that you will be prevented from your activities of daily living.

HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE TO HEAL?

Healing time varies from individual to individual. On average, it will take around ten days. The better condition your skin is in, the better the final result will be. Mature clients may need an additional one to two weeks healing for the final results to appear

DOES IT HURT?

There can be slight discomfort associated with permanent makeup procedures. A topical anesthetic is used to numb the area. Discomfort will vary from client to client. If clients experience any discomfort it is very tolerable.

WHAT IS THE TOUCH UP PROCESS LIKE?

Permanent makeup is a two step treatment, consisting of an initial procedure and then a perfection touch up four to eight weeks after. During healing, it's normal to experience some pigment loss; this is why we schedule your perfection touch up after your initial procedure. We recommend eyebrow perfection touch ups every 12-18 months to keep the colour and strokes of your brow crisp. Other permanent makeup procedures do not require as many touch ups.

WHAT CAN'T I DO IMMEDIATELY AFTER THE PROCEDURE?

You are advised to keep the skin as clean as possible - no swimming, sweating or otherwise getting the area wet; no tanning or prolonged sun exposure; no picking or peeling the tattoo.

DO YOU SHAVE OFF MY EXISTING BROW?

Absolutely not, we utilize every natural hair possible to create the most realistic eyebrow.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

Antacids, thyroid and anxiety medications have been reported as interfering with permanent makeup either by affecting retention or shifting the pigment to an undesirable tone. Remember, everything we eat and drink have their own chemical structure and the electron ends that are unattached or free, may get attached to others compounds inside the body forming a new molecule that may show a different color spectrum. With that info, an educated client may have better expectation and know that she / he may need more frequent adjustments that others. The better condition your skin is in, the better the final result will be. Mature clients may need an additional one to two weeks healing for the final results to appear. The better you take care of your skin and protect it from UV rays, the better the outcome and lifespan of the permanent cosmetic procedures.
